  • Established ultrasonic method to determine required slurry properties
  • Developed in-line ultrasonic probe
  • Used rapid data analysis method to provide real-time results for process control
  • Demonstrated technology at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory
  • NOTE: This technology is suitable for use during mixing, settling, processing, and transport

Capabilities Employed to Meet Client Needs: Ultrasonics (sensor configuration, integration); data acquisition (developing the electronics required to automate the sensor); fluid dynamics (model development of ultrasonic signal attenuation versus frequency over range of particle sizes and slurry properties; interrogation of multiphase systems during mixing and transport to evaluate probe performance).
